17:45 Mile

I walked/jogged a 17:45 mile, not bad for a fat lady, but way out of shape, I got winded. It is also not bad for a woman who gave birth only a month ago.

To do the Mickey's Half Marathon in January, a participant needs to be able to maintain a 16 minute mile.  That means to be able to finish the race, a person needs to complete the course in 3 1/2 hours.

I am not timing my pace today, just walking on the tread mill for a half an hour.

My first MS walk

I signed up for my first five mile walk, and plan to FINALLY register for the Mickey's half marathon.

What took me so long?

I gave birth last month.  Training got put on hold back in October.  Now I can train.  My first MS walk will be in April.  I am looking forward to this new chapter.

More posts later.

Pregnancy and Training

I got a treadmill and I walk every other day.  It is all I can do with the little wiggler in my tummy.

Went to Walt Disney World last month, walking around the parks were invigorating.  My daughter walked and told me "no stroller."

We had fun.  And are going back soon.

I will keep training for the 2010 marathon.

A baby oh my!

A possible pregnancy can put a huge monkey wrench in my training.  I took a pregnancy test and it was positive.  All I have to do is confirm it with the doctors.  I love children, so this was not bad news.

I have been struggling with my training but I think even when pregnant I can still walk.  So I will keep my training going... to be continued....

Sleep

Lack of sleep has affected my training.  My husband left a month ago, he will be back at Christmas time, but his leaving made the baby girls sad.  Sad is not the right word but I can't think of the right one today.

I ate a salad, and chicken.  I strength train and do a walking video daily.  I gained weight and now I am heavier than when I started training for the Marathon.

Water Park

Getting a pass to the local water park today.  I know what does that have to do with training for a Marathon?  Well, I don't know but the water looks inviting.  I like to swim.

Last night I ate pot roast with potatoes.  I will stretch and walk later today.

Walking

I have been walking every evening with children in their double stroller.  I really feel healthier but tired.  My back still hurts but there is really nothing to be done about that.

The DisBoards at www.disboards.com has been a great help with motivation.  I read the boards daily.

I had pot roast with potatoes and peas today.
